Last week in Episode 84 - Murmuring in the Wilderness - Exodus 15:22-27, the Israelites are now in the wilderness proper and, very young in their relationship with God, grumble against Moses and God for legitimate reasons. We discussed the reasons for murmuring, pondered two different angles on God’s assertion as Israel’s healer, and saw an example of perfect resonance between a historical reading and a typological/eschatological reading of the Hebrew Bible.
This week in Episode 85 - Manna from Heaven - Exodus 16:1-17, God has given Israelites sweet water to drink but the murmuring continues: what will we eat? Anticipating the Decalogue, God’s ten laws for His people, we pay attention to Israel’s growing pains as they try to learn faith in this God.
